Back to working in a library. I really love the amount of light in here, and enjoy taking 5 min breaks to look over a random selection of books.

One of the quickest ways to find breaks in your existing app is to write a command line app. Can you do the main app function via CLI, even see how modular it is?

I’m rewriting an AR Cribbage game I’ve been working on to have a CLI interface and found SO many bugs.

Even with a snow blower moving 4-6 inches of snow is a lot of work. đŸ„”

Visited my local brick & mortar guitar shop today, lovely people. Beautifully set up.

Spent today going through an ol’ iOS side project: Cribbage

Golly, I made some choices back in the day. Restructuring the app to handle multiple targets including CLI, and make it clearer for future me and others to understand.

Much of the UI remains unchanged, thus far 🎉

Love this city

Mural art spelling the city name of "Longmont" Colorado. In each letter is a mini art representing the city. L contains a red barn, O contains "Love this city", N contains a farm basket with veggies, G contains a green bike, M contains mountains, O contains a city center, N contains a person climbing rocks, T contains a ferris wheel

Feeling like the hardest New Years Resolution I have on my list is to update all my passwords and stop using the same password everywhere… đŸ”„

Netflix’s continued, chosen inoperability with AppleTV “Up Next” will always remind me of Walmart scanning QR codes instead of taking tap-to-pay.

Frustrated has just turned into eye roll and waiting for them to get with it

People in my life clearly are signaling they want a change (of jacket/hoody) from me.

I was gifted 3 jackets this holiday

We’ve reached the point that my garage fridges (3) aren’t keeping my beer warm enough from the weather.

Me: buying kerosene to keep the beer not frozen..

I want the ease of use of Twitter, the owning your own content/future of Micro.blog and the interoperability of mastodon.

All of that in one.

I don’t have the cycles to spin my own version of this world, but really wish I could pay someone to support that.

Does micro.blog have trouble with .heic photos? I get an error 100% of the time, but if I go “Markup” the photo (a single dot) then save it goes through without issue.

My son lives for food. Our favorite creole place nearby serves one of his favorite dishes: POTATOES (yelled in toddler volume with excitement)

Henry a toddler in green long sleeves with a dinosaur shirt and knit beanie smiles with excitement

A friend suggested the ratio of rum to egg nog should be “like creamer in coffee” but.. I drink my coffee black..

Egg nog in a glass saying “naughty nice” on a napkin with cartoon glasses of beer with antlers and the text “Reinbeers”

Successfully shoveled our massive driveway and walkways in this ish

Weather app showing current weather as -15F

Really wanting a 2000s era countdown clock on my page right now. I’m sub 6 hours till starting vacation for the rest of the year…. đŸ„ł

Slowly reaching my winter full form. Jeans, hoodie, beanie, stouts.

Tomorrow is supposed to be a high of 0F, with a low of -15. Wind chill is supposed to feel like -50… I’ve already brought in wood, pellets, etc. Buckling down. đŸ„¶

Big fire near Boulder again. High winds always kick up this kind of stuff 😔

Time permitting, I love cooking. Today I’m making arroz con pollo (chicken with rice) and chicken chimichurri.

Started with two whole chickens, broke them down and starting veggie prep. Tons of fun, and lots of food for my dads 59th birthday.

Spent some time today with a new friend learning how to properly bowl.

Similar to Megan Fox (I know, we are so similar) I’ve got brachydactyly; essentially club thumbs. Which means most house balls won’t fit me. I picked up a free ball from another friend in CA, got it custom fit.

I love playing/challenging myself to learn new games.

I still haven’t done 100 Days of SwiftUI, and sometimes my lack of experience in the area reminds me that.. maybe I should

Working out of a coffee shop for my WFH day, and loving the Screen Mirroring/extended display to an iPad. Handy to have the extra space, especially for referencing/static material

One of those “this should just work” but “takes 5 hours fighting it days”

I wish I only had 99 problems

Xcode errors, 320 failures, 251 warnings

Watched the Pirates of the Caribbean movies in series over the past week.

I appreciate that eventually they jump the shark, but bring in elements of sea lore to have fun. If you go into it knowing this comedy/pirate movie is intended to be fun it’s really enjoyable.
